The youth crew
The crew is the young people who create what happens on Slettebakken – not adults guessing what youth want. The crew is 15–20 years old, and everything they make is free and open to all.

The crew takes part in activities that are free and open to all, does team building and grows as a group and a project.
We meet far more often than planned, and the joint meetings have become a well-known arena for meeting and collaborating in the neighbourhood.
New requests to join keep coming – so the crew now has a waiting list.
The young people are hugely engaged, take their own initiative for activities and show up for others in the neighbourhood.
The crew contributed to the national TV fundraiser and will take part in more family days and events for children run by volunteers and the municipality.
A lot of attention and engagement locally, with requests for collaboration from volunteers, the municipality and businesses.
"Everyone has been so positive! We were told in advance that it would probably be hard to get organisations and public bodies on board, but our experience is the opposite. Every month we get requests from organisations and clubs that want to join the joint meetings and collaborate. There is a great willingness to cooperate on Slettebakken. We believe it was wise to spend a lot of time at the start of the project talking with the potential participants, and that we did not arrive with a finished structure for collaboration, but with an arena for developing a shared one."
What the crew does
Decides what happens
The crew meets once a month and decides which events we make in the next period.
Creates events
Gaming nights, concerts, tournaments, movie night in the gym – the ideas come from the crew.
Hosts
Welcomes people at the door, shows them around and makes sure nobody stands alone in a corner.
Speaks up
The crew is the voice of young people towards clubs, organisations and decision makers in the neighbourhood.
The crew has a waiting list
The youth crew is made up of young people aged 15 to 20, and interest is high – there are no free places at the moment, and those who want to join are on a waiting list. That is why there is no sign-up form here.
